#Origin 8 bike rack install
If you don't have that, you can install it directly onto your axle. Your bike might have eyelets on top (and a little forward) of the wheel axle like this one. Second, I'll try to explain the installation: My fork did end up a little (or a lot) scuffed due to my mistakes.įirst, do you have a picture or a model name of your bike? This rack does have limitations and is why I'm not using it on my current bike. I do hear what you mean with about installations difficulties. I'll try to help! I had this rack for a while and loved it.

I'd recommend TRP Spyre or HY/DR for road bike. It's a pricey solution but that's what I'd do. Nashbar sells carbon fork 1 1/8", and it has eyelet and disc brake tab. The solution that would definitely work is to replace the front fork with eyelet. might work but as I said, I think the fork is carbon fiber, and I'd definitely hesitate to use these. They have a variety of ways to attach a rack to the axle. If it where aluminum or steel, you can use p-clamp to secure the legs to fork. I think the fork is cabron so I wouldn't recommend using p-clamps. They are designed for fenders and not for rack so it's probably not robust for heavy weight but should be fine for lighter load. In other word, your fork doesn't have eyelets so in order to secure the legs to the fork, you need some sort of adapter.

You can try using the Axiom Axle Runner, or PDW's Eyelets for Full Metal Fenders.

(It didn't exist when I owned my Nano). For those who broke free from the traffic gridlock and let their legs carry them.Īsk questions, share stories, give advice, and let others know how fun bicycle commuting can be! Rules: Of all those, I personally would try the Priority one first based on price and likely fit and that I would want a platform. The Sunlite rack that u/knellotron mentioned would be a good one too and would fit for sure. Specialized Pizza Rack may also work (I had one but needed about 1" more height to work on my Sundeal). Origin8 Classique Cargo HD rack is another one that might work. Based on my experience I am pretty sure this would work on the Nano, but you'd have to try to be sure and return it if it doesn't work. I called them and tried to get dimensions and they were responsive but sorry that they are not in the office due to covid and didn't have a rack on hand to measure. The Priority Cycles Porteur front rack might also work. The Sundeal has a taller fork and so some racks that might work on a Nano won't work on my Sundeal.Ĭheck out the dimensions of the Racktime Topit front rack, they might work for you: I've owned a Mercier Nano before and currently own a Sundeal V1. So sometimes you can find front racks that are meant for lowrider boss+fork crown mounting and they will work on a mini. The distance from dropout bosses to the fork crown on the Nano is only a bit more than the distance from lowrider bosses to fork crown on a normal bike.
